Bröl

Bröl is a Dutch colloquialism meaning clutter, junk or tat. More specifically, it can refer to tchotchkes or knick-knacks that people collect. One man's junk is another man's treasure. I've always had a soft spot for bröl. The correct spelling is brol, but an umlaut makes everything more awesome, Motörhead-style. My favourite kind of bröl can be found in the audiovisual department. Saving obsolete, worn-out or flopped video players, video game consoles or stereo decks from the proverbial trash heap makes me happy. I don't know why. It just does.
