Music bought in 2024

New [on LP]

Best Of by Bruce Springsteen
I didn't need another Springsteen compilation. However, I'm going for a complete Springsteen collection, so still an essential purchase.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull by John Williams
I didn't need another Indiana Jones soundtrack. However, I'm going for a complete John Williams collection, so still an essential purchase. Made a video about the record here.

Born in the U.S.A. by Bruce Springsteen
The 40th Anniversary edition. No unreleased bonus tracks or swag to sweeten the deal. I didn't need another version of Born in the U.S.A. However, I'm going for a complete Springsteen collection, so still an essential purchase. Made a video about the record here.

Time and Again : The Ultimate a-ha by a-ha
I didn't need another a-ha compilation. However, I'm going for a complete a-ha collection, so still an essential purchase. Made a video about the record here.

Home, Before and After by Regina Spektor
I did need another Regina Spektor album, because I'm going for a complete Regina Spektor collection. Still shrinkwrapped, so no opinion as of now.

One Deep River by Mark Knopfler
I did need another Mark Knopfler album, because I'm going for a complete Mark Knopfler collection. Only gave it one spin so far, so no honest opinion as of now.

New [on CD]

Now and Then by The Beatles
A new Beatles song in 2023? And it's a good one? Lovely surprise. Made a video about the CD here.

New [on Blu-ray Audio]

Fantastic and Make It Big by Wham!
Two reissues by the British label/website SDE (Super Deluxe Edition). Editor/founder Paul Sinclair, a lovely chap, likes to re-release classic albums on the Blu-ray Audio format. I wholeheartedly support his decision, and thus sometimes buy one his releases. Picked this these two to make a comparison video.

Second-hand [on LP]

Papa Loves Mambo by Nat King Cole
A lovely 78rpm breakable shellac record. An essential purchase for any Back to the Future fan (even if said soundtrack actually features the Perry Como version). Made a video about the record here.

Human After All by Daft Punk
My favourite Daft Punk record. Took me quite some time to find a (relatively) pristine copy, and a first pressing to boot. Made a video about the record here.

Wanna Play House by DJ Bart
One of my favourite Belgian floorfillers. This one's from 1998. Was 14 at the time, and loved foormuziek. Still do.

Born in the U.S.A. Holland Promo by Bruce Springsteen
A 1984 promo 12", featuring a then-released cut 'Shut Out The Light'. I had never heard this one prior to 2024. So good, so lovely. Great song, one of his best. Very glad with this (expensive) purchase.

The Edge of Heaven by Wham!
12" farewell single, featuring their best song 'Battlestations'. Picked this up to make a comparison video with the Blu-ray Audio from Super Deluxe Edition.

Somebody's Watching Me by Rockwell
I didn't need this Rockwell 12", seeing as I already had the 7". However, I'm going for a complete Michael Jackson collection, so still an essential purchase.

Desperado by Eagles
I did need this Eagles album, because I'm going for a complete Eagles collection. A fleamarket find, and a gift from the spouse.

Doo Doo Da by The Police
A free 7", from the friendly chap that sold me the Eagles' Desperado.
