Indiana Jones and the Great Circle by MachineGames [PS5]
While I am a fan of the series, and while I do try to collect all video games based on the adventure-archeologist, nothing prepared me for just how excellent this game would be. It's perfect. If I were a game developer, I would never think of making a FIRST-person Indiana Jones game, but it works. Everything works. Atmosphere, story, voice acting, dialogue, music, a perfect game all around. I actually bought (well, received from the spouse for my 40th birthday) a PS5 for this. I was prepared to buy an Xbox Series X for this game. It was worth the wait, and the money. Loved it.

Resident Evil 4 by Capcom [PS5]
The 2025 original game is still the most impressive game on the Nintendo Gamecube (it's 21 years old, and it holds up graphically and gameplay-wise), and this 2023 remake is everything the original was, and more. It's engrossing, it's rewarding, it's scarier, gorier, prettier, and (almost) better. Well, it IS probably better, but it'll never beat the original nostalgia-wise. I still remember how I spent my last pennies (I rarely paid full price) and played the whole month of July 2005. My mom even complained, stating 'Are you gonna waste the whole summer playing Resident Evil 4?'. It was that good. And this remake is just as good. Recommended in every sense of the word.
