Films of 2024

1. Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire
If you're a Ghostbusters fan on the fence (due to the harsh reviews), definitely give this one a chance. 'Frozen Empire' is a lovely cinematic surprise. Full review here.

2. Furiosa
'Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga' is a high-octane, thrilling, expertly-made time at the movies. A perfectly fine prequel that just misses the urgency, scope and drive of 2015's 'Mad Max: Fury Road'. Full review here.

3. Dikkie Dik en de verdwenen knuffel
Very cute Dutch animated movie for kindergarteners and toddlers. Normally, I would not see this in a theatre, but since this was the VERY. FIRST. cinema visit for my son Elliot (4), this ranks very highly on an emotional scale. This'll always be his first cinema visit. As such, the highest of high marks for this charming offering.

4. Deadpool & Wolverine
Gags aplenty, and a very funny Channing Tatum, but not up to the first two movies' standards. Still a fun lark, id est a little romp.

5. Megalopolis
Well. No idea how to grade and/or rate this. I didn't understand a single thing. Might be a work of a genius. Might be a work of a madman. Might be something in between. Full review here.
